Robert H Lorenz passed away on August 8, 2020 at Amita Health in Hoffman Estates with his children by his side.
Bob was born in Chicago to John and Alma (Voegel) Lorenz on January 11, 1930. He grew up on Melrose Street in Chicago along with 2 brothers and a sister; the late Jack (Jen) Lorenz, Arlene (the late Bob) Miller, and the late Chuck(Maryanne) Lorenz. Bob served in the army during the Korean War. He married Wanda Peca on October 1, 1959. In 1964 they moved to Elk Grove Village to raise their family.
Bob was a Korean War Army veteran. Bob and Wanda enjoyed gardening, spending winters in Florida, fishing in Ely, MN, watching sports, but he mostly enjoyed spending time with family. Bob could always be counted on to lend a hand.
Beloved husband of Wanda for 60 years; Loving father of Laurie (Richard) Biedrzycki, Robert (Patricia) Lorenz, and John (Erin) Lorenz. Proud Grandfather of Ricky Biedrzycki, Lauren Biedrzyck, Kyle Lorenz, Kaley Lorenz, Katie Lorenz and Kevin Lorenz. Fond Uncle to Dennis, the late Cheri, James, Doreen, Anthony, Michael, the late Paul, Jody and Sandra. Bob is also survived by his cousin Don Lorenz.
A memorial will be held in Ely, Minnesota when it is safe to do so. Bob will be missed by all who knew him.
