Robert G. Janis, 78, of Dekalb, died Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Born October 31, 1940 in Chicago. Robert Graduated Niles East High School in 1958 and was a veteran having served in the Navy. Robert enjoyed model trains and spending time with his family. Beloved husband of 55 years to Donna (nee Hoffelt); loving dad of Denise (Steve) Millar, Robert R. Tracey (Steve) Walczak; cherished grandpa of Todd (Megan) and Tara Millar, Kyle and Cody O'Neill, Katie (Jeff) Berrios; and great-grandpa of Gunner, Evelyn, Matthew and Tucker; dear son of the late Robert F. and Sibyl (nee Gaul); kind brother of Geri (Robert) Janis-Birr, Christopher (Deborah) and the late Michael; caring brother-in-law of Ginny and fond uncle of Brad, Dave, Andy, Trish and Teresa. Memorial visitation 10:00a.m. until time of memorial service 12:00 noon Saturday April 6, 2019 at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 95 S Gilbert St (at State St), South Elgin. Cremation was private at the Countryside Crematory.
