Robert Joseph Greaney of Cocoa Fl, formerly of Hoffman Estates; beloved husband of the late Joan who he was married to for 55 years and he passed away on what would have been their 60th wedding anniversary. Loving father of Patricia Greaney of Coca, FL, Lawrence (Lisa) of Las Vegas, Daniel (Susan) of Poplar Grove, Nancy Trout of Melbourne, Fl and Jeanne (Gary) Szczodrowski of Carol Stream; cherished grandfather of Brent, Jeremy, Corey, Heather and Jennifer Greaney, Christopher, Stephanie and Kathryn Trout, Brian and Sarah Szczodrowski; also survived by his sister in law Dolores (Richard) Opsal and many loving nieces and nephews.
  
  Born January 8th, 1926 in Chicago he died Thursday, October 18th, 2012 in Florida. Bob graduated from St. Rita High School in 1943 and then served in the US Army, assigned to the 89th Station Hospital in WWII from 1944-1946. He then worked for Admiral International for over 40 years and this is also where he and Joan had met and fell in love, they married in 1952 and moved to Hoffman Estates, one of the pioneer families to reside there. After retiring in 1993, Bob and Joan moved to Florida.
  
  Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, November 2nd , 11:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service 1:00 p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.) Bartlett. Cremation was private in FL and a private inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Evanston.
