Robert L. Gould, 83, of Elgin.
Born September 25, 1927 he passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 23rd at Rosewood Care Center surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born in Buncombe, Il and in 1954 he moved to Elgin. Robert was an ambitious man and entrepreneur his entire life. In 1957 he established Robert Gould Builders and built hundreds of homes in the Fox Valley area and beyond. He was well known in the area and was awarded the Blue Ribbon Builder of The Year Award for Excellence.
Robert was a devoted husband, father and grandfather; he loved his family dearly. Survivors include his wife Virginia Gould; daughters Donna Gould Jessen and Nancy Gould; Son in law Robert Jessen; grandchildren Mikyle and Isabella Jessen. Preceded in death by his brother Owen Gould.
Visitation Thursday from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory, 95 S. Gilbert St. (at Middle St.) South Elgin. Funeral Service Friday, 12:00 p.m. (noon). Burial Prairie Cemetery, St. Charles Township.
