Robert Dunbar

Robert Wellington Dunbar, 96, a longtime Roselle resident and member of Trinity Lutheran Church, passed away Thursday, November 9. Beloved husband of the late June for 67 years; loving father of Jenny Dunbar, Joan (Rick) Kesler, Carey Dunbar, and Robert (Janice) Dunbar; proud grandfather of Kaitlyn and Lindsay Kesler, and Alec Dunbar; fond brother of the late Mary (Dunbar) Rosenwinkel.



Robert met June, the love of his life, at a Halloween barn dance and immediately knew she was the one. Second only to his adoration for June was his love for his children and grandchildren. Few things made him happier than spending time with family, eating good food and cracking jokes. He was unfailingly generous and would lend a hand to anyone who was in need.



A World War II Army veteran, his favorite pastimes included watching westerns, reading, listening to music, and working with his hands. He passed these interests on to his kids and grandkids. He will be remembered fondly, listening to classical music at his basement workbench, where he taught everyone the right way to hammer nails.



Visitation Wednesday, November 15 from 10:30 – 11:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church 405 S. Rush St., Roselle. Interment to follow at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Trinity Lutheran Church are appreciated.  Info www.countrysidefuneralhomes.com or (630)529-5751
