Robert Deacon

Robert “Bob” Deacon, 67, of South Elgin, died Monday, February 27, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. Born April 4, 1955 in Chicago. Bob worked for JBC Filippo or what is now known at the J B Sanifilpo & Son Company for over 30 years and helped it grow to what it is today. He loved Harley Davidson and owned several bikes. He used these bikes to travel America and made it to 49 states. He was a music enthusiast who especially loved guitars. He was a Boy Scout leader, a coach and loved being in his yard and campfires. He was a true cowboy and a good dad. He will be missed. Beloved dad of Nick Deacon, Erin (Troy) Rittschof; loving grandpa of Christopher; kind brother of Michael Deacon; dear close relative of Rick, Luanne and Christine and fond uncle of Katherine Lamb and great uncle of Elizabeth Lamb and Clayton Gibson. Cremation was private at the Countryside Crematory. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
