September 24, 1963 – February 14, 2026
Robert A. “Bob” Bucciarelli, 62, passed away on February 14, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of adventure, service, and deep devotion to family.
Bob was the beloved father of Ryan, Christopher, and Ethan. He was a devoted son to Mary Lou and a loyal brother to Butch (Joyce), Brian (Janet), and Brad (Chris). He was preceded in death by his father Bill. His family was his foundation, and he carried that love into everything he did.
Bob’s love of the outdoors began in childhood, adventuring with his brothers near their grandmother’s home, where long days and weekends were spent exploring, discovering, and building the bond with nature that would shape him for life. That early spark of curiosity and adventure never faded.
For nearly a decade, Bob served as Scoutmaster of Troop 227 in Bartlett through Three Fires Council, Scouting America. He was passionate about mentoring young people, teaching leadership, resilience, and service. He believed deeply in giving back and found great fulfillment in guiding youth to grow in confidence and character.
Bob and his wife, Julie, were partners not only in marriage but in service. Together, they devoted countless hours to developing youth and strengthening leaders through Three Fires Council, Scouting America, and the Ottawa District. They supported one another fully, sharing a belief in the power of mentorship, character development, and community. Their teamwork and commitment left a lasting mark on the families and volunteers they worked alongside.
In recognition of his extraordinary service, Bob was awarded the Silver Beaver Award, honoring his distinguished service to youth. He also received the Spirit of Scouting Award through the Ottawa District, reflecting his unwavering dedication to the values of Scouting. Bob was a Vigil Honor member of Lowaneu Allanque Lodge in the Order of the Arrow—a testament to the deep respect he earned and the quiet leadership he demonstrated throughout his life.
Bob’s sense of adventure carried him far beyond home. Alongside his wife Julie, he traveled the world, embracing new cultures, meeting new people, and seeking out unique foods and experiences. Whether hiking a trail, sitting around a campfire, or exploring a new country, Bob lived fully and intentionally.
He will be remembered for his gentle steady presence, generous spirit, adventurous heart, and unwavering care for those closest to him. His impact will continue to be felt in the lives he shaped, the family he cherished, and the countless memories created along the way.
Plans for a celebration of Bob’s life will be shared in the coming weeks.
