Rita Silchuck

Rita M. Silchuck (nee Brzostek), 93, former resident of Merrimac, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, April 12, 2022. Born September 5, 1928, Rita grew up and spent almost half her life in the Chicagoland area. She was a 1947 graduate of Cathedral High School. Rita worked part-time at The Golf Mill Sears in Niles before retiring to Merrimac. She was a very devout Catholic who was a former long-time parishioner of both St. Stanislaus Kostka and St. Thecla Parishes in Chicago as well as Divine Mercy, St. Mary Health of the Sick Parish in Merrimac, Wisconsin. In addition to her strong faith and love for her family; Rita enjoyed flowers, gardening, shopping and going to the casinos whenever she had the chance. She was blessed with many caring friends whom she loved dearly. Rita will be greatly missed by her family. Beloved wife of the late Irvin; loving mom of Michael (Carol). Deborah (Allen) Thude, Theresa (Frank) Amendola and the late Matthew; cherished grandma of Frank(Nicole), Eric (Ashley), Anthony (Erin), Gina (Rigo), Bryan, Christopher and the late Bradley; proud great-grandma of 8; caring mother-in-law of Gail and dear daughter to the late Edmund and Elizabeth (nee Mook) Brzostek . Mass for Rita and Irvin will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 23,2022 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 551 N. Rush Street, Itasca, IL. Interment All Saint’s Cemetery. Burial will be private.
