Rita Janik

Rita J. Janik (nee Zelinski) of Elgin, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2015. She was born in Chicago on 3/17/23. Rita was preceded in death, on this same date 32 years ago, by her husband, Roman. Rita is survived by her daughter, Lynn Washburn and her husband, Jack; son, Kevin; grandchildren Nathan, David, Karisa, Jonathon and Kelliann, Aaliyah and Jasmine, and great granddaughter Violet. Rita had been a caregiver to her sister, JoAnn Nawrocki until her death in 2013. Rita was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved to cook, bake and entertain, and her home was decorated for every holiday throughout the year. Rita was devoted to and loved the many companion dogs she had throughout the years. Donations in her honor to the Anderson Animal Shelter 1000 S La Fox St, South Elgin, IL 60177, or the Alzheimer Association at alz.org would be appreciated.
