Rita M. Finn (née Ryan), 81, of Addison, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024. She was born on December 26, 1942, in Chicago. Rita found immense joy in her family, both immediate and extended, cherishing their gatherings, particularly during the holidays. She dedicated herself as a caregiver, notably to her son Shawn, who battled disabilities throughout his life. Rita's presence will be deeply missed. She was the beloved wife of the late Leo Finn; loving mother of Shawn Finn, Mary (Brad) Cook, Shannon (Doug) Jones, Kevin Finn, Colleen Scali, and Ryan (Katrina) Finn; cherished grandmother of Kaylind (Jake), Connor (Morgann), Kierstyn (Robert), Justin, Thomas, Jack, Sarah, Michael, Anthony, Alexa, and Ayden; dear great-grandmother of Tatum. Rita was the kind daughter of the late Timothy and Kathleen Ryan and a sister of eight.



Memorial Mass, Saturday, August 10th., 11:30 am at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 551 N. Rush St., Itasca, IL.   Following Mass inurnment will be at Mt. Emblem Cemetery at 1:00pm.  Please meet at the office.



A private cremation will be held at the Countryside Crematory.



In lieu of flowers, donations to the Clearbrook Center (
www.clearbrook.org ), where Shawn resides, would be gratefully appreciated.
