Rita C. Carty

Rita C. Carty, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on May 27, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, Rita was a cherished resident of Hoffman Estates, IL, where she spent her later years surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Rita was predeceased by her devoted husband, Raymond, and her parents, James and Helen Winter. She is survived by her children, Catherine (Kenneth) Johnson and James (Lan) Carty, who carry on her legacy of love and family values. Rita was the proud grandmother of Connor (Caroline) and Ross (Alainna), and doted on her great-grandson, Callan, whose joyful presence brought her immense happiness.

Throughout her life, Rita found joy in the simple pleasures and cherished every moment with her family. She was an avid reader who often found solace and adventure within the pages of books. Her days were filled with laughter and companionship, especially when engaged in spirited games of Scrabble, Bingo, and cards with her friends and loved ones. Rita’s warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Rita's commitment to her family was unwavering, and her love extended beyond the bonds of blood. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering strength will be remembered, inspiring all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rita’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but her spirit and love will endure through the memories she created and the lives she touched. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
