Richard Casmir Whitney, 83, of Elgin died June 24, 2017. Richard was the beloved husband of Susan (nee Konajeski); loving father of Susan (Scott) Zabolotzky, Shelly (Joe) Ryan, Shawn (Ruben) Bonilla, James (Jennifer) Tackett and Cindy (John) Thomas; proud grandfather of 7 and great grandfather of 2; cherished brother of Dorothy (Erwin) Groenendall, the late Jean (Sam) Buscemi and Charlotte (Cleo) Taylor; fond son in law of Beatrice Szymanski. Richard was an Army veteran.
Visitation Wednesday June 28, 3:00p.m. until the time of service 8:00p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 95 S. Gilbert Street (at State Street) South Elgin. Following services cremation will be private at Countryside Crematory. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Lung Association www.lung.org would be appreciated.
