Richard L. Surges of Schaumburg, formerly of Melrose Park. He is survived by two cherished daughters Rachel (Ken) Carlson and Rebecca (Michael) Alther and two sons Richard (Sophia) and Dr. Christopher (Christina) Gianvecchio. Dear brother of Donna (the late Harold) Hein, Patricia (Gary) Cook, Roy (Lorene) Surges and Gladys (Bruce) Smith. Loving grandpa of 12 including Kierra, Kaden, Kyle and Kamryn Alther with whom he was able to share the last precious years of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Gladys nee Lubko. Visitation Sunday 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 1640 S. Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.) Streamwood / Schaumburg. Funeral Monday 9:15 a.m. to Church of the Holy Spirit. Mass 10:00 a.m. Interment Arlington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Alzheimers Association would be appreciated.
