Visitation for Richard E. Schmalzer, a lifelong resident of Chicago, will be held Friday, Nov. 5, 2021 3:00 - 8:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 333 S. Roselle Rd. (1/2 mile south of Irving Park Rd.) Roselle. Funeral Saturday 9:15a.m. to St. Walter Church. Mass 10:00a.m. Following mass, cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory.
Richard is the beloved husband of 64 years of the late Dorothy Marie nee Bialas; loving father of Allen (Kathleen) Schmalzer; cherished grandfather of Brian (Stephanie) Schmalzer, Daniel (Lauren Bien) Schmalzer and Kathryn (Brian) Kerr; proud great grandfather of Finn and Owen Schmalzer, Liam Kerr; dear brother of the late Joseph, Caroline, John, Ann, Walter and Eleanor and brother-in-law of Clara Krantz;fond uncle to many loving nieces and nephews.
