Richard F. Metzel a Bartlett resident for 43 years; loving father of Craig (Kathy) Metzel and Sheri (Harry) Brubeck; cherished grandfather of Gia (Rick) Van Roekel, Krystal Wasko, April (Keith) Muhlbauer, Lindsey (Zach) Martin, Allison (Keith) Schroeder, Brianna (Adam) Shanks, Tom (Daiana) Brubeck and Rachel Brubeck; proud great grandfather of Ireland, Sydnee, Rosie, Maddie, Owen, Grant, Ross, Kate, Annabel, Mallory, Aubrey, Emerson, Derek, Mckenna and baby Shanks.
A US Army Veteran with the 82nd Airborne WWII, a 66 year member of the Elmbrook Masonic Lodge #354, Brookfield, WI. He received a Lifetime Achievement award for serving in Boy Scouts for over 70 years. A “Bartlett Living Legend” for his community service and taught AARP Safe Driver program for many years. He was also a member of the Elgin Moose Lodge 799 and Lions Club of Bartlett.

In lieu of flowers, to help my great grandson Ross beat the beast, melanoma cancer, donations made to Veridian Credit Union c/o Ross Muhlbauer Benefit Fund 1201 S. Ankey Blvd., Ankeny, IA 50023 would be appreciated.

Visitation Thursday, August 24th 2:00 until the time of funeral service 4:30 p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.) Bartlett. Following services cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory.
