Richard Jaworski
August 8, 1942 — December 2, 2024
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard Julius Jaworski. Richard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who left us peacefully on December 2, 2024.
Richard was born August 8, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Julius and Victoria Jaworski. He grew up in Chicago and was educated at Lane Tech Prep School attended the University of Illinois and graduated from DePaul University. Richard had a successful career working for several organizations, but found his true passion for work in behavioral health. As a Director of Behavioral Health facilities; he loved leading all the departments to work in unison, providing care, compassion, and direction to patients. His work was incredibly impactful and his caring spirit touched the lives of many.
In December, 1966 Richard married the love of his life Pamela Ann Skau. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and support. As a devoted father to his children, Richard prioritized providing for his family. He cherished family camping trips, lively conversations around the dinner table, and music. The family fondly remembers spending evenings playing chess and listening to a variety of music - from Beethoven to Chuck Berry to The Kingston Trio. He became a fan of opera in the last few decades. Richard’s professional and personal advice was sought out by many as he provided levelheaded yet heartfelt guidance. As a devout Christian, Richard was involved with the church, taught Sunday School for many years, loved bible study groups and attended services regularly. He was involved with his condo association for 10 years serving in many roles. He greatly enjoyed attending events for all his grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; his children, Karen (Michael) and Steven (Elizabeth), and his most cherished grandchildren Joseph (Katelynn), Anthony, Anna, Stevie Lee, and Cooper.
On Saturday December 14, 2024, a visitation will start at 10AM and a memorial service at 11:00AM at Covenant Church of Schaumburg, 301 N. Meacham Road, Schaumburg, IL. Friends and family are invited to join us for a luncheon immediately following the service in the hospitality room at the church.
