Richard Hoppel

Richard D. Hoppel, 77, of Streamwood, died Wednesday, March 9, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Born July 22, 1944 in Belmond, Iowa. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed model trains, fishing whenever he could and was very handy. He will be missed by his family and friends. Beloved husband of the late Nancy; loving dad of Kim (John) Nielsen, Ronald (Shirley) and Kevin Hoppel; cherished grandpa of Matthew, Brian, Dan, Stephanie, Nicole and Amanda; dear son of the late George and Alma (nee Rabe) Hoppel and kind brother of the late Betty Lacey and Roger Hoppel. Memorial visitation Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until time of memorial service 1:00 p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 S Greenmeadows Blvd (at Barrington Rd), Streamwood. Cremation was private at the Countryside Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org, would be appreciated.
