Richard Hish

RICHARD W HISH - Richard W Hish, 72, Died of Cancer on September 18th, 2024 at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington, IL. He was born on April 15th, 1952, in Melrose Park, the son of Wilbur W. and Joan (De Burn) Hish.

Richard graduated from Elgin High School, Class of 1970. Following Graduation he went to Elgin Community College. Rich was married to Cathy (Scilabra) Hish, They settled in Elgin. They have been married for 16 years. Richard was on the Hanover Park Fire Department for 35 Years. He Retired as Battalion Chief. Richard designed a new Fire Engine for the department, went to other Countries to train other Firemen, was part of their water rescue team, and helped to facilitate donating fire equipment to other countries.  Richard cherished every moment spent playing with his beloved model trains alongside his grandson Logan.

Richard was predeceased by his parents Wilbur W. and Joan Hish along with his brother Christopher Hish. Surviving in addition to his Wife, Cathy (Scilabra) Hish, are his 3 children Brandon (Lauren) Hish, Michael (Jamie) Hish, and Kaitlin (Reagan) Gillespie; His 2 Grand Children Candace Hish, and Logan Hish; His siblings Robert (Jean) Hish, Michael (Cindy) Hish, Linda (Rob) Karlin; and Many Nieces and Nephews.

Richard's visitation is scheduled for Monday, September 23rd, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Countryside Funeral Home, located at 950 South Bartlett Rd, Bartlett, IL 60103. The Celebration of Life for Richard will take place on Tuesday, September 24th, at 10:00 AM at the same location. His Pallbearers will be Brandon Hish, Michael Hish, Robert Hish, Michael Hish, Reagan Gillespie, and Richard Dudek.
