Richard "Rich" E. Daudelin, age 92, of Bartlett, Illinois, beloved husband and best friend of the late Mary Ann Daudelin, nee Klaus, for sixty-one plus years, died peacefully on January 31st. Loving father of Denise (Ron) Novak, David (Barbara), Steven (Camille) and Robert (Karen) Daudelin. Proud grandfather of Christina, Ryan (Mallery), Katelyn (Patrick) Lang, Danny and the late Michael Daudelin. Great-grandfather of Broderick, Anders, Cormac, Annabel Deeley, Kali Daudelin-Lang, Fallon and Keller Daudelin. Brother of Lucille (the late Edmund) Frank, Lea M., the late Eugene R. Jr. (Susanne) and Paul E. (Betty) Daudelin. Fond uncle of many. Beloved son of the late Eugene R. Sr. and Alma Daudelin.
Continued the family business Daudelin Flowers and Gifts, started by his father on the Chicago Westside in 1928, that later moved to Westchester, Illinois. His floral creations and position as President of FTD took him all over the world, from Europe to the Rose Bowl Parade and even decorating the White House for Christmas. He was a devoted Cubs fan, and an even more devoted husband. He and Mary Ann enjoyed traveling to family reunions across the country and wintering in Marco Island, Florida. He was always up for a game of cards or a round of golf and enjoyed being a ranger at Villa Olivia Golf Course in Bartlett for over 20 years. Richard was an active grandparent, teaching his granddaughter how to drive, attending hundreds of school activities, and talking baseball with his great-grandchildren.
Visitation Friday, February 9, 2:00pm – 8:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Road (at Stearns Road) Bartlett. Funeral 10:15am to St. Peter Damian Church Mass 11:00am. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
