Rheta Bolf
February 5, 1938 — March 19, 2025
Rheta L. Bolf, nee Hoffman, formerly of Hanover Park, passed away March 19th. She is preceded in death by her husband, John B. Bolf, her beloved daughter, Deborah Duff, her parents Harley and Elsie Hoffman, her brother
Arnold Hoffman, and brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Lucy Hoffman.
Rheta worked at Ontarioville Elementary School for many years, and after retirement, she focused on time with her grandchildren. She loved decorating cookies with them and playing cards. She was a life-long Green Bay Packers fan.
Rheta married John in 1958 and moved to Chicago from Thorp, Wisconsin. They later bought their first house in Hanover Park. Rheta and John raised five children. Once the children were on their own, they took trips to places all over the United States.
Their oldest daughter, Marie Konczyk, married to Steve, dedicated her life to taking care of Rheta over the last few years. Steve spent his time sparring with Rheta about the Packers vs. Bears rivalry.
Diane Ryon, married to Pat, also took care of Rheta during her recent decline. Diane and Pat have two children, Eric and Ashley. Eric and his long-term girlfriend Lauren Raposa, reside in New Jersey. Ashley lives in the Chicago area. Both Eric and Ashley spent hours at Grandma’s house and will miss her dearly.
Rheta’s third daughter, Deborah, passed away in 2012. She was married to Larry Duff, who moved closer to Rheta and spent much time helping her around her house. Debbie and Larry had two sons, Kyle and Trevor. Kyle and his girlfriend Moira Dillon, live in Denver. Trevor is married to Victoria (DiMonte). They have a son, Theo, who was Rheta’s only great grandchild. Both Kyle and Trevor were close to their beloved grandmother, having spent much time with her after their mom’s passing. They, too, will miss her immensely.
Rheta’s fourth daughter, Laura Bolf-Beliveau, married to Ralph Beliveau, resides in Oklahoma. Since she has lived out of state for several years, she and her family spent many vacations at Grandma’s house. Laura and Ralph have two daughters, Abby and Martha. Abby is married to John Shelden, and they live in Colorado. Martha, engaged to Marcus Leonard, lives in Oklahoma City. Both Abby and Martha spent countless hours playing in Rheta’s basement and serving her and John many pretend meals.
Rheta’s only son, Steve, married to Kara (Rossi), also supported Rheta over the last few years. He and Kara have three children: Mason, Elizabeth, and Will. All Packer fans, Steve and his family continue the Hoffman tradition of sitting in the cold in Green Bay, cheering on the team. They will miss Rheta dearly.
Rheta is survived by her brothers, Tom (Dawn) Hoffman and Ted (Marie) Hoffman. She loved her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, too many to name here. She was truly blessed with family.
