Srimathi Ranga Vardhani (Rangamma) Koneru

Srimathi Rangavardhani Koneru passed away on December 11, 2020 at the age of 92. She was born on August 15, 1928 in Sangam Jagarlamudi, Andra Pradesh, India.

Rangammamma, as she was affectionately known for the more than four decades that she lived in the United States, was mother to five children, grandmother to eight grandchildren, and great grandmother to eleven great grandchildren. She was the youngest child of the late Parachuri Sivalingaiah and Kantamma. She had four older sisters and one older brother. Despite being widowed at age 33, Rangammamma took great pleasure in raising and caring for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was a loving soul and took delight in cooking for all of her family. She was passionate about gardening and spent many happy hours tending to her vegetables and flowers. She enjoyed giving the vegetables to her family and friends at the Temple. Rangammamma was a regular presence at the S.V.S. Balaji Temple in Aurora, where she was well known to the priests and office and kitchen staff. At home, she often read scriptures of Hindu texts.

She was the loving wife of Venkataswara Rao; beloved mother to Harinadha Babu (Prafulla), Bose (Swaruparani), Vijayalakshmi (Jaya Rama Rao), Rambabu (Maheswari), and Ravindra (Mani); proud grandmother to Sujana (Krupaka Rao), Rajani (Edukondalu), Pratyusha (Brett), Harisha (James), Ravikanth (Sushma), Srikanth (Radhika), Vamsi (Lavanya), and Veena; and cherished Tatammama to Sravya (Dhiraj), Venkatesh, Trilok, Alok, Ava, Tanvi, Cora, Yashwin, Pranavi, Asha, and Jaiden.

Throughout her life, she worked incredibly hard to provide for her family. She continued to be active in the kitchen and garden until she suffered a stroke in the fall of 2019. She persevered in her final months while maintaining her gentle and kind spirit. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and neighbors. May her soul rest in peace.
