Randy Wright

October 23, 1962 — November 12, 2024

Randy L. Wright of Streamwood, He will be missed by his loving wife Sharon and their black lab Dozzer; his parents the late Ray and the late  Joyce, brother of Steve (Pat), Kathy, Keith, Cindy (Bruce); loving uncle to Jeff (Jill), Al (Kristi) and six great nieces and nephews and seven great nieces and nephews.

Randy Louis Wright was born October 23, 1962 in Cedar Rapids Iowa, and graduated from Jefferson High in 1981,  Growing up Randy loved to plunk squirrels and rabbits, good eating Randy always said.  Summers Randy loved working on his uncles farms where he learned how to drive a tractor at age 8 or 9.  When he got older, Randy was a pig farmer and he loved it.  He had a huge pig collection that he moved to Illinois in 1982.  Randy had many different jobs to help him get by, including roofing with hot tar.  He was asked by Al a friend from the bar our watering hole  “The Blue Mule” to come work with him roofing homes and it was a good fit as he continued to do roofing for over 20 more years.  Randy then took the civil service test to get a job working with the village of Streamwood and got the call.  He worked in the Forestry Department for 5-6 years and then was promoted to M2 of the Water Department and stayed there for many years.

Randy met his now wife at “The Pour House” and fast became good friends and began the special journey they shared together that ended way to soon.  The two of them loved to camp, first in a tent for about 15 years until they upgraded to a pop up camper.  They would pack up the Astro van and their dog Roscoe and go where the road took them.  They always had a destination, but would enjoy stopping to smell the roses along the way.  They had three black labs over the years, Roscoe for 14 years and then Bristol for the next 8 years and now have Dozzer.  Now the trips will be just Sharon and Dozzer to pack up the truck and travel where the road leads them.

Randy’s nieces Haylie, Shelby and Taylor added that uncle Randy was always so much fun to be around.  Each summer, we would look forward to Uncle Randy and Aunt Sharon’s visit to Cedar Rapids, Iowa where we would play in the backyard, swim and have bonfires.  This always included Uncle Randy’s loud, signature laugh and his dog that he loved so much.  He loved us as if we were his own and we cherished the time we were able to spend with him growing up.  The Wright girls will always miss their Uncle Randy.
