On Friday November 12, 2021, Ralph J Tovar, loving husband to the late Marlene Tovar and father of Michael, Stephen and John Tovar, passed away at age 79. Ralph was born on August 1, 1942 in Chicago, IL to Raul and Anna Tovar. On May 26, 1962 he married Marlene Francis Gardner. They raised their three sons in Chicago, Des Plaines and finally in Bartlett Illinois, where they lived for over 40 years. Ralph had an offset printing business, Profile Graphics, which served Bartlett and the surrounding areas. He was a well-loved philanthropist and invested a lot of time and energy into the community. He was especially proud to be a part of the Bartlett Rotary Club, serving as their President twice, most recently in 2019/2020, and receiving the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow award. Ralph loved to travel, visiting his son Michael, his daughter-in-law Patricia and his two grandchildren: Abigail and Alexander in Switzerland and The Netherlands. From there, he traveled all over Europe—from France to Italy, Germany, Greece and as far as Japan. Back in the states, Ralph was proud of his two sons, Stephen and John, who pursued careers in theatre, television and film. Ralph loved to attend their performances. Ralph loved John’s wife Colleen and their dog, Basher, dearly. He was a proud grandpa to Stephen’s son Samuel. He loved to spend time with him, Sam’s mom Karen, Stephen's friend Katie-Sarah and their dog Sophie. Ralph was preceded in death by his father Raul, his mother Anna, his sister Adrienne, brother Dennis and his wife Marlene. He is survived by his brother Robert, Ralph's three sons, Michael, Stephen and John, his two daughter-in-laws, Patricia and Colleen Tovar and his three grandchildren, Abigail, Alexander and Samuel.
