Ralph Sendejas Moreno, 81, a resident of Streamwood for 47 years. Born June 22, 1930 in Chicago; at rest on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at his residence.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Ignacia (Martinez); 10 children, Ricky (Angie) Casillas, Yolanda, Floria Christine, Amelia Wood, John (Margie), Michael (Sally), Sarah Koeckritz (Jeff), Raphael (Ada), Rachael (Dana) and Joseph (Dave); 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his sister, Ramona Rodriguez and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his mother, Mary Moreno. Ralph grew up in Chicago and joined the United States Air Force at the age of 17. He was a certified air craft mechanic and crew chief for American Airlines and retired in 1988 after 34 years of dedicated service.
A member of St. John the Evangelist Church of Streamwood, Il. He migrated his family to the suburbs as one of the first residents of this new community. Ralph enjoyed many hours of reading, swimming and relaxing with his beloved grandchildren and canine companions. He was very proud and loved his family dearly. His sense of humor and quick wit will be remembered and missed by many. He was the best husband, dad and grandpa anyone could ever ask and hope for. He will be honored and remembered by all who knew and loved him for many years to come.
Memorial Visitation Tuesday, July 26 10:30 - 12:30p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 South Greenmeadows Blvd (at Barrington Road) Streamwood/Schaumburg. Memorial Mass 1:00p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church 502 S. Park Blvd. Streamwood. Cremation was private at the Countryside Crematory.
