Ralph Johnston

Ralph William "Bill" Johnston, 86, of Springville, Tenn., was born April 7, 1925, in Elmhurst, Ill., and died Monday, July 4, 2011, at Henry County Medical Center, Paris, Tenn. Visitation will be at Countryside Funeral Home, 333 S. Roselle Road, Roselle, on Friday July 8, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Gardens West, Cemetery. Bill was married Oct. 26, 1946, to Marilyn Alice Nordstrom Johnston who survives. He was a World War II Army veteran, a life member of V.F.W. and past president in Bloomingdale, Ill.; and a member Poplar Grove Methodist Church. He was the retired owner-operator of R.W. Johnston & Sons, lnc. in Bloomingdale, Ill. He was a former Park District president Association in Bloomingdale, Ill. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Alice Nordstrom Johnston of Springville, Tenn.; daughters, Linda Alice (Jim) Smile of Clarendon Hills, Ill., and Sharon Joy (Greg) Siciak of Bloomingdale, Ill.; sons, Ralph William (Gayle) Johnston Jr. of South Elgin, Ill., Jeffrey Alan (Martha) Johnston of Arlington Heights, Ill., Dennis Lee (Diane) Johnston of Bloomingdale, Ill., John Robert (Kathy) Johnston of Carol Stream, Ill.; brother, Arthur J. (Nancy) Johnston of Elmhurst, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Richard Johnston; mother, Sarah Elizabeth Hannah Johnston; and brother, Robert R. Johnston. For information, 630-529-5751.
