Pritam Singh
November 25, 1917 — June 3, 2010
Born in Rangoon, Burma, educated at Khalsa College Amritsar, Dr. Singh was a freedom fighter for the independence of India. Immigrating to the United States in 1967 with his wife, he earned his doctorate in physics at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Dr. Singh was a lifelong scholar of the spiritual teachings of Sikhism, authoring several religious texts. He served his students, community and family in the Chicago area over the past 43 years. His piety and discipline served as an inspiration to those in his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Jasbir Kaur, daughters Karamjit, Diljeet and Ranjeet, and grandchildren Jeevna and Preeya.
