Visitation for Peter “Jerry” Peacock of Bensenville since 1965, will be held Friday, February 10, 2017 3:00p.m. until time of service 8:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 333 S. Roselle Rd. (1/2 mile south of Irving Park Rd.) Roselle.
Born March 29, 1938 in Chicago, Jerry died Sunday, January 29, 2017 surrounded by his family and loved ones.
He is the beloved husband of the late Laura nee Brewer; loving father of Jeavon (John) Szczygiel, Jení (Robert) Forquer, Jeale (Todd) Baryl and the late Ret. Sgt. Robert A. Peacock; cherished grandfather of Dara and Trace Szczygiel, Zack and Nicole Forquer, Tristan and Parker Baryl; dear brother of Paul (Patricia), Robert (Carole), Ronald (Judith), Perry (Cheryl), Patti Jo (Mike) Fee, Darel (the late Claire) and the late Maureen (Gerald) Small, Richard (the late Julia); brother-in-law of the late Carol Peacock and the late Lillie (the late Jake) Holland; Special “father figure” to Trisha, Jimm, Kim, Bridget and Sharon, beloved uncle and cousin to many.
Jerry grew up in Chicago, attended Steinmetz High School where he ran on the track team. Served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Essex; on March 26, 1960 married the love of his life in Jacksonville, FL. He owned and operated Jerry’s Service Center in Bensenville, IL from 1976 to 2003 where he worked hard to satisfy all his customers that soon became friends. Besides his wife, Jerry’s passion was fixing cars, restoring his 62 Corvette, attending guns shows, hunting and spending time with his children, grandchildren, friends and his dogs. He never met a stranger and was a friend to many.
