Penelope A. Siemers, a beloved wife, nurturing mother, and devoted grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, at the age of 80. Born in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, she spent her years in Schaumburg, IL, and Necedah, WI, where her presence left an indelible mark on her community and loved ones.
Penny is survived by her cherished husband of 62 years, Edwin Siemers. Together they built a beautiful family encompassing the love and laughter of their three children: Terry (John) Reed, Tammy (Dan) Martin, and Kristie (Jeff) Barbera. She was the proud grandmother of Jessica (Alex) Hershner, Jared Reed, Danielle (Sean) Porter, Kaelee Martin, Vince Barbera, and Arianna Barbera, and the delighted great-grandmother to Lynnea Porter.
A dedicated Pricing Manager by profession, Penny was known not just for her work ethic but for her many interests and hobbies. She had a profound love for gardening and the arts, crafting beautiful works with her hands through painting and macramé, and threw legendary parties that brought joy to all who attended. She loved to travel and took yearly trips to Florida, among other locations with family. Her pleasure in water skiing and fishing was well known, as was her passion for crossword puzzles and bird watching. She doted on her grandchildren at every opportunity, and spent quality time with them in Wisconsin, taking them mutton busting at rodeo’s, to watch the stock car races at the speedway, or talking and having fun with them until the early hours of the morning.
Her daughters fondly remember her "clean freak" nature, a trait she instilled in them with love and humor. As a spiritual guide, she taught Sunday school at the First Christian Church of Hoffman Estates, spreading wisdom and compassion to many.
Penny's culinary skills were unmatched; her banana cream pie, in particular, was a favorite to many. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from watching "Wheel of Fortune" to trying her luck at Ho-Chunk Casino.
She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Dorothy Fedorow, whose memories she cherished and kept alive through stories and traditions.
Family and friends will honor Penny's life on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory of Roselle, Illinois. A memorial visitation will take place from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, followed by the memorial service at 5:00 pm.
Penelope's legacy of love, creativity, and hospitality will be fondly remembered and upheld by all who knew her. May she rest in peace, forever cherished in our hearts.
