Peggy Lou Carlson

Peggy Lou Carlson, a cherished resident of Bloomingdale, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on Thursday, July 25th, 1940, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, Peggy was a beloved member of her community and family, who will remember her warmth, creativity, and devotion to loved ones.

Peggy's life was an extraordinary tapestry woven with love, artistry, and cherished moments captured through her passion for photography. Known as the family photographer, she immortalized countless joyful occasions and created lifelong memories for all those she loved. Moreover, her love for miniatures and scrapbooking was boundless, as she invested her heart into crafting intricate pieces that now serve as treasured mementos for her family.

Peggy was preceded in death by her loving parents, George Leo Bodenske and Sylvia Rose Bodenske; her dedicated spouse, Roy Carlson; her son, Mark Bahlenhorst; brother-in-law, Ray Sieburg; and nephew, John Sieburg. Though their absence leaves an indelible mark, Peggy's spirit endures in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Heather Bahlenhorst, and cherished grandson, Trevor Bahlenhorst. Peggy also leaves behind her beloved sister, Judy Sieburg, and daughter-in-law, Cindy Bahlenhorst. Her memory lives on through her nephews, Steven Sieburg, Donald Sieburg, Robert Sieburg, and Tony Olivia, and nieces, Lynn Brown and Kerri Atkins. Peggy was also a great aunt to many who adored her.

To celebrate Peggy's remarkable life and bid farewell, friends and family are invited to a visitation on Saturday, April 11th, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Cornerstone Faith Community Church in Bloomingdale, Illinois. Following the visitation, a funeral service will honor Peggy's incredible journey at 12:00 pm at the same location. Interment Fairview Memorial Park, Northlake, IL.
