Paulina Marcus

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Paulina Marcus on July 17, 2022, at the age of 86. She was a loving and devoted great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, and friend to all whose lives she touched.

Born in Romania, Paulina met her husband Ioan Marcus while on a train ride to Satu-Mare. He was on a short leave from the army, and after catching his eye, he courted her, and they married in May 1954. They were married for 47 years until his passing in 2001.

Paulina was the beloved mother of Maria - Mia and Nelu (Irina), proud grandmother of Cristina (Madalin), Daniela (Vito), Mirela (Ionut), Adrian, and Florin, and great-grandmother of Edi, Cezara, Sophie, Stefan, Dean, and Serban.

She lived a full life as a wonderful mother and most loving and caring grandmother. She loved to garden, cook, bake, and take care of her favorite grandson, Adrian. Most of all she loved her family and friends and instilled good values in her children and grandchildren that served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

A celebration of Paulina’s life will be held at Countryside Funeral Home, 1640, S Green meadows, Blvd., Streamwood, IL on Friday, July 22, 2022 beginning at 3:00 pm to 9:00pm. From there, she will travel to her final resting place next to her beloved husband in Romania.
