It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Paulette A Governale who departed this life on September 8, 2025 at the age of 78. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion.
Born on February 12, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to her parents Francis and Dorothy Arens, Paulette lived a life rooted in love, compassion, and service to others. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend whose warmth touched all who knew her. Her greatest joy was found in her family, and she dedicated her life to creating a home filled with love and cherished traditions. She also loved a good shopping trip to Walmart or Kohls's whether by herself, with a loved one or a friend.
Paulette was the beloved wife of 57 years to Leo Governale, loving mother of Michael (Amy) Governale, Gina (David) Graham, and Paula Aquino. Cherished grandmother of Brianna Governale, Caitlin Edgerton, Matthew Governale, Connor Edgerton, Christopher Aquino, Anthony Aquino and Nicholas Aquino. Dearest sister of Victoria (Raymond) Smith.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 11:00 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 215 Thomas More Drive, Elgin Illinois 60123. Inurnment at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, 1185 Algonquin Road, Palatine Illinois 60067.
