Patricia Walsh

November 15, 1941 — January 30, 2021

Patricia Louise Walsh (nee Cribben) 79, of Bartlett, went to be with her late husband, Jeremiah P. Walsh, on Jan. 30, 2021. She was the loving mother of Daniel (Meghan), Timothy (Kimberly), Robert, Stephen, Martin (Dolly) and Jeanne (Martin); adoring grandmother of Matthew, Connor, Andrea, Andrew, Ryan, Evan, Jeremy, Hannah and Nicholas; dear daughter of the late Helen (nee Morris) and Mark Cribben; youngest sister to the late Mary Therese (James) Collins, the late Robert (Mary) Cribben, Margaret A. Cribben, the late Catherine (Merlin) Schank, and Mark (Linda) Cribben; sister in-law of Mary (William) Figliuolo and the late Edward Walsh. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mom had six children that kept her very busy from an early age. She would make sure we were all dressed for school, lunches were prepared, and homework completed every day. As we progressed to high school and college, it became logistically more challenging to attend events at multiple campuses in different states but she was always there beaming. She also worked as a teller with Citibank for 22 years until she retired. As we grew into adults and had our own families, she took great pride in our accomplishments and successes for she knew she had a big hand in molding the outcome from an early age.

Family, friends and the church were cherished by Mom. Growing up, family gatherings were always large and festive occasions. She may not have realized it at the time but those events still elicit memories that bring a warmth to our hearts and a smile to our faces today. Mom made it a point to share updates about family and friends whenever you talked with her. It was her version of social networking even before there was Facebook. She never had a driver’s license and relied on the bus, one of her children, or Dad to take her places. Upon our dad’s passing, Mom announced that she wanted to learn how to drive and was not going to sell his car. She wanted her independence in order to get to the church, the store and the library by herself. Mom was so proud of herself when she passed the exam, got her license and began making the drives to Corpus Christi Church for morning mass.
In her final days, Mom continued to tell stories about family and friends with great fondness. As she spoke of the ones that had passed before her she would smile and tell us how she was looking forward to seeing them again. She described in great detail the big party they were going to have when she reunited with all her loved ones that passed before her. Her faith and love for all of us has shown like a beacon in the night. Heaven gained an angel and you can be assured that she will be watching down over all of us.
