Patricia M. Cox, 63, of Bloomingdale, IL passed away peacefully on March 26, 2024 after a brief illness. Beloved mother of Lisa Kurzynski and Amanda (Brian) Gracious, loving Busia of Sean, Nick, Lexie and Lucy; cherished daughter of Lillian and the late Frank M Grabowski; dear sister of Frank J Grabowski and Linda (William) Grant.
A long-term resident of Bloomingdale, Pat was an active and visible member of the community including serving as a block watch captain. Many may have fond memories in the early 2000s of her driving around town in her bright yellow Mercury Cougar listening to music and always out shopping. Pat’s entire life was about her family, she was endlessly devoted to her children and grandchildren and “Busia’s house” was always the fun house and a place of countless family parties, events and good memories.
Some may not know that Pat used to be a bowler and even was part of a band. She shared her love of rock music, musicals and pop with her children, and even was lucky enough to get front row tickets to see Queen this past year which she said was a highlight of her life. Pat enjoyed playing board games especially Yahtzee, and played a mean game of pool. If you didn’t find Pat out shopping or spending time with her family she’d be gardening or working on her swimming pool. All she wanted was for her family and friends to be happy. Pat loved fiercely and had a fire and energy that few could match. She was a tremendous friend, confidante and protector and the loss of her light and presence is profound.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home, 333 S. Roselle Rd. Roselle, IL. Funeral Wednesday, April 3, 2024 will start with 9:15 am prayers at Countryside Funeral Home then procession to St. Walter Catholic Church, 130 W. Pine, Roselle, IL 60172 for mass at 10:00 am.
