Patricia M. Barry nee Manning, born February 16, 1920 died Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at 96 years old. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 73 years, Leo A. Barry, Sr., who she met in the 5th grade, she also was the loving mother of Leo A. Jr. (the late Nimfy), Charles L. (Patty), Kenneth H. (Janis), Janet E. (Kenneth) Johnson, Leonette A. (Thomas) Walsh, Barbara J. (Kenneth) Corrado, Patricia M. (Robert) Hasz, Geraldine C. (Kevin) White, Andrew T. (Marilyn), Stephen N. (Angel), Constance M. (the late Stephen) Camiliere, Ronald G., and our “adopted” son Tom (Judie) Wilhite. Cherished grandmother to 38; great grandmother of 39. Dear sister of Genevieve Ryan and brother, Ret. Col Thomas J. (Paula) Manning, and the late Mary Lou Hildebrandt, Arthur (the late Mary F.) Manning, Mack P. (the late Virginia) Manning and Frances (the late Bertram) Layde; many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to raising 12 children, Pat was for 30 years a District 211 librarian, and for 30 years also taught Religious Ed/ CCD at St. Ansgar’s parish. With Leo, Pat was also a pioneer in the Christian Family Movement in Chicago, a Cub Scout den mother, a familiar and well-known volunteer at Spring Valley Nature Center and Heritage Farm in Schaumburg, with the Glenmary Home Missioners and at St. Ansgar Parish, where for 3 years she also was an ESL instructor. Pat was a great lady who lived an extraordinary life and will live on in the memory of those who loved her. Rest in peace.
Visitation for Patricia M. Barry nee Manning of Streamwood will be held Friday, January 13, 2017 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.) Streamwood/Schaumburg. Funeral Saturday 10:15a.m. to St. Ansgar Church. Mass 11:00 a.m. Interment at All Saints Catholic Cemetery in Des Plaines.
