Oscar Garcia

June 14, 1963 — March 24, 2024

Oscar Garcia, 60, of Bartlett passed away on March 24, 2024. Oscar was the beloved husband of Lorraine Garcia loving father of Adam (Alexa), Alexis (Benjamin) Garcia-Tracy and Toni; proud grandfather of Ella, Harper, Hudson, Chloe, (with two new grandchildren expected fall '24); cherished son of Ligia and the late Arcesio; dear brother of Adriana and Jimmy (Debby). He will be missed by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Oscar was a Godfather to many and a friend to everyone.Oscar was a caring soul.  After immigrating to the United States from Colombia, and serving in the Marine Corps, he went on to embody the American Dream.  He cared deeply about his work, which was felt by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.  Over the last 8 years, Oscar worked with his son to build a national construction organization and absolutely loved working with his family.  He was a guiding light to many and felt a deep responsibility and stewardship towards others.  He enjoyed golf, gambling, traveling and baseball (Oscar was a huge Cubs fan) and loved going to Las Vegas.  He never failed to make loved ones, strangers and everyone in between crack a smile.  Oscar spent nearly all his free time with his family. He was an exceptionally invested grandfather and spent countless hours playing tag, hide-and-seek, and whatever else his grandchildren wanted to play.  His departure from this world leaves an incredible void, but his memory will live on through those that knew him best.  He is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
