Oliver Carpenter

Ret. Lt. Col Oliver E. Carpenter, 92, of Belleair Beach, FL passed away July 29, 2010. O.E. was born in Oak Park, IL on Sept. 9, 1917 and resided for many years in Elmwood Park, IL. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks and the “Seventies”. He was a member of the Reserve Officers Assoc. and was a retired Fire Commissioner for Belleair Beach. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Judith Laura Roberts; his son, Richard “Dick” (Kathleen); 3 grandchildren, Dean Carpenter, Dawn (Jeff) Samet, and Joyce (Eric) Larson; 6 great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son William “Bill” and brother, Robert. Visitation Thursday 3:00 – 9:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home 333 S. Roselle Rd. Roselle.
