Nyla Summers

Nyla "Mae" Summers was born on February 16, 1931. She was born in Macedonia, IL she later moved to Elgin with her husband. She was peacefully sleeping in her home surrounded by her loving family when she was taken to her eternal home on September 17, 2011. She was known for many things, but most common was her home daycare that she successfully ran for over 20 years, her large chicken collection, her giving personality, her great cooking and hospitality. She loved her family and her dog Missy with all her heart. She leaves behind her loving Husband Elvis of 64 years, two sons Larry (Colleen) and Jeffrey (Sonja), five grandchildren Shannon, Ryan, Joshuah, Matthew and Shawn and four great grandchildren Karey, Jacqueline, Jacob and Megan, sister Velma Coons. She was preceded in death by her Mother Helen, Son Keith and sister Caroline Wallace. Visitation Tusday, September 20, 2011 from 3:00p.m. until time of service 8:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 95 S Gilbert St (at Middle Rd), South Elgin. Following services, cremation will be private at Countryside Crematory.
