Norman Netko

Norman Walter Netko, 84, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 18, 2023. An Army Veteran, Norman was an avid Chicago White Sox fan. He was an accomplished educator at Elgin Community College and other institutions, having obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and journalism and a Master of Arts degree in English. He followed his passion to lead organizations for the benefit of others, including the position of Executive DIrector of the Illinois Podiatry Society and the Executive Director of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the deaf. He also contributed to the local community as a member of St. Kieran Church in Chicago Heights. Beloved father of Scott (Dianne); proud grandfather of Katherine Netko and Michael (Jia) Netko. Visitation Sunday, October 29 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.), Bartlett. Funeral Monday 9:45am at the funeral home to Resurrection Catholic Church. Mass 10:30am. Family and friends will meet at 12:30pm at Assumption Cemetery in Glenwood for burial.
