Nancy Kosiba Koster, 63, passed away surrounded by family on September 18, 2016. Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and aunt to her family. In addition to raising three children (Christopher, Matthew, and Kaitlyn) with her husband of over 40 years, Kevin, Nancy found her calling as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the cardiac ICU at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, IL. Nancy was respected by her colleagues in a profession she loved. It is still unknown whether being a great nurse made Nancy a better mother or vice versa, none the less, Nancy found a way to be the best at both.
Nancy was a devoted Catholic and active member within her church, Resurrection Parish. Nancy's faith was a cornerstone in her life. She contributed to many ministries including faith formation for both children and adults, lector ministry, and visiting the homebound. Nancy played an essential role in supporting her husband, Kevin, through his Deacon formation, ordination and continued service to their parish community.
All of Nancy’s children and their spouses (Maricela, Jacqueline, and Joseph) will remember her generous heart. Nancy was infamous for sending spontaneous yet highly sentimental gifts to family members simply because she knew it would put a smile on their face.
Nancy will be deeply missed, but more importantly remembered for all the lives she changed and hearts she touched.
