Miriam M. Murphy, 90, of Bartlett, a former 30 year resident of Bloomingdale, passed away at Clare Oaks Continuing Care Community in Bartlett on Tuesday, June 25, 2013.
  
  She was the beloved daughter of the late Harold and Regina nee Novotny; loving sister of Roseanne Yaley of Santa Clara, CA, Mark (Donna) of Herndon, VA, Susan (David) Koeick of Snow Mass, CO, and the late Maxine Beck Gallagher, John (Mary), James (Ellie) and Paul (Sharon); also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was a teacher, mentor and friend to Barbara Sondalle for 49 years.
  
  Miriam attended grade school in Antigo, WI., and graduated valedictorian from St. Peter's high school in Oshkosh, Wi. She had a Fine Arts degree from the Chicago Music Conservatory and a Masters in organ from DePaul University.
  
  She was a music teacher for over 44 years with the last 20 years teaching classroom music in Addison, IL. She played the organ at many local churches including Visitation Catholic Church in Elmhurst and gave private lessons as well.
  
  She loved chocolate and anything sweet, and loved to travel to many far away locations.
