Mildred Oehler

October 3, 1916 — December 3, 2009

Mildred ‘G.G.’ Oehler.
A celebration of life for Mildred ‘G.G.’ Oehler, of Genoa, was held Saturday morning at The Countryside Funeral Home in South Elgin. Burial took place following the service at Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin, Illinois. Pastor Dr. Daniel Diss officiated.
G.G. was born October 3, 1916 in Greenfield, IN. On Thursday morning the angels took her home, as she passed peacefully while surrounded by her family.
She was the wife of the late Richard, with whom she was the proprietor of a very successful pharmacy in Chicago. G.G. was an avid sweepstakes enthusiast, cook, and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. What she adored most, though, were not things but her eight great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Lois (Al) Wilner, her grandchildren Lynn, Karen, and David, and her eight beautiful great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, daughter, Carol, and son-in-law Frank.
The family has asked that donations be made to the Mildred Oehler Scholarship at the Larkin Center, 1212 Larkin Avenue, Elgin, IL, 60123.
