Mildred "Millie" Carl, of Lake Geneva, WI passed away peacefully on January 16, 2018 with loved ones by her side at her daughter's house in Roselle. She was born July 6, 1932 in Miller, South Dakota. She was a resident of Des Plaines for 40 years before moving to Lake Geneva. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years Donald R. Carl of Lake Geneva, WI and 3 daughters: LuAnn Long of Melrose Park, Lynda Reid of Roselle and Nancy (Steve) McKewen of Summerville, South Carolina. Also survived by 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter: Bill (Christine) Welch of Wooddale, Brent (Kathlene) of West Chicago, Jackson Reid of Roselle and Mary Reid of Roselle; 8 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, 2 aunts, 4 sister in laws, 1 brother in law, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She worked for United airlines for 36 years as a ticket auditor and retired in 1993. At Christmas time she was known as Mrs. Claus, as she would pull gifts from her big black velvet bag and throw them out to all of the family. She loved to travel, dance, play cards, oil paint and put puzzles together. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory www.cancer.org
