Michael Unterberger

Michael "Mike" Edmund Donald Unterberger, 61, formerly of Chicago, DesPlaines, Adams-Friendship, Wi. and most recently from Lexington, Kentucky. Mike passed away unexpectedly in his home on November 25, 2022. Mike will always be remembered for his humorous stories and quick wit. He loved being outdoors hunting, fishing or fixing something someone dropped off that didn't run. Although he didn't own a lot of material things and went through rough times in his own life, he was always willing to help someone and encourage them. Mike was privately very proud of being sober for the last ten years ! Mike is survived by his children Melissa, John, April, Michael, Chris and Donald; grandchildren Ashley, Ava and Madeline, a great grandchild Damon and another on the way; his mother Elsie; siblings Donald "Dubie', Lori and Stacey. Mike was also adored by a nephew and three nieces. He is also missed by his German Shepherd, Marley. He was preceded in death by his father Donald and many aunts and uncles. A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Saturday, January 14th, 2023 from 2:00 pm until the time of his service and stories 4:00 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 333 South Roselle Rd. (1/2 mile South of Irving Park Rd.) Roselle, Il. 60172. The family feels Mike would want anyone who is able to attend to wear their favorite sports team or hunting attire. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
