Michael M. “Mike” Musson, 80, of Wayne Township, died October 8, 2021. Michael was the son of the late Edwin and the late Pauline (née Murray). Michael was the beloved husband of Patricia “Pat”; loving father of Michael (Colette) and Arlene (Matthew) Leonard; adoring grandfather of Nathan, Grace and Brandon Leonard; dear brother of the late Kitty (Bob) Knapp, Lynn (Mick) Sagrillo and Sally (the late Brian) Kelley; and was uncle to several nieces and nephews.
Mike was born in Chicago on April 16, 1941. His family later moved to Lombard, and he graduated from York High School in 1959. After serving in the U.S. Army as a member of the Old Guard during the Vietnam War era, Mike attended Washburn Trade School and became a Sheet Metal Journeyman.
Mike and Pat were married on December 17, 1966, and a few years later built their home in unincorporated Wayne Township, where they raised their children and lived together until his passing. After retiring in 2003, Mike and Pat traveled extensively, both across the U.S. and abroad. Mike’s favorite trip was to the Galapagos Islands in 2014. Mike was an avid reader, and he loved spending time with his grandkids and taking care of his house and yard. Mike was also a dedicated volunteer at the Wayne Township Food Pantry for many years.
Memorial visitation Saturday, October 16, 9:00 am until time of memorial service, 11:30 am at Poplar Creek Church 300 E. Schick Rd., Bartlett. Cremation was private at Countryside Crematory. Inurnment will be at the Wayne Township Cemetery at a later date.
