Michael Kolecke

Michael A. Kolecke, 95, of Streamwood, formerly of Byron, IL, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023. An Army Veteran, Michael was a former Kansas City professional baseball player in the 1940s-1950s, and an avid bowler who enjoyed making stained glass. Beloved husband for almost 50 years to the late Evelyn; loving father of Michael (Joyce), Keith (the late Dianne), and the late Christopher; devoted grandfather of Karen (Jason) Lee, Paul (Morgan) Kolecke, Julia Kolecke, Brenton Kolecke, Alyssa Kolecke, Reinette Carrico ; proud great grandfather of Kadence, Jasmine, Misty, Coen, Tiberius, Jaedyn and Chandler; preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Saturday, July 29 from 9:00am until time of service 11:00am at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Rd.), Streamwood/Schaumburg.
