Michael A. Kettinger, a cherished husband, devoted father, and adored grandfather, passed on February 26, 2026. Born on August 24, 1943, in the scenic Colorado Springs, Colorado, Michael embraced a life full of explorative curiosity and unwavering love for his family.

Michael's career as an Electrical Engineer was driven by his scientific mind and a passion for discovery. Beyond his professional life, he found joy in the simple pleasures of nature, often spending serene moments fishing. One of his life’s aspirations was to pan for gold—a testament to his adventurous spirit and enduring enthusiasm for new pursuits.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Rose Kettinger. He also leaves behind his loving children, Tammy (Pete) Klevin and Jeff (Jen) Kettinger, and his cherished grandchildren, Kyle and Ella, who were the light of his later years.

In passing, Michael believed with conviction that he was embarking on a new journey, a new life. His nurturing and playful interactions with his grandchildren were a true delight, cementing his place as a devoted and cherished patriarch.

Cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory, with arrangements handled by Countryside Funeral Homes & Crematory in Streamwood. A public celebration of his life will be arranged at a later date, where all who knew and loved him can gather to share memories and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
