Michael P. Colles

Michael Paul Colles, 46, passed away on June 19, 2026.

Michael was known for his sarcastic, sometimes dark sense of humor that those closest to him knew well. He lived life on his own terms and, despite life's struggles, wanted the people he loved to find happiness.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors camping, fishing, boating, and especially building bonfires. He was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, loved music, and could often be found humming or singing his own tunes. Michael also had a special place in his heart for dogs and believed every dog deserves a loving home. His faithful companions Roman, Simba, and Harley brought him great joy.

Michael is survived by his son, Alexander Colles; his fiancée, Sharina Johnson; and his stepchildren, Kendall Jr, Alyssa, and Kiara Johnson. He is also survived by his mother, Evelyn Stein (Lampricht); his father, John Colles (Darcy); his sisters, Angeline Hansen (Matthew) and Christa Chavez (Jon); his brothers, Christopher and Ryan Colles; nephew Nathan Hansen; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Raymond Stein; his grandparents Norbert and Ilse Lampricht, James and Agnes Colles; and his beloved dogs, G.T., Petey, Yager, and Duke.

A private memorial service will be held by the family.

Michael's story reminds us that people can carry burdens that aren't always visible. He will be remembered with love, laughter, and the hope that those who struggle know they are never alone.
