Born 9/26/35 in Chicago, Maura was the loving daughter of Nancy and Joseph Lomonaco, who emigrated to the U.S. from Italy. She was the twin sister to Mary Grace, who was not only her "double" but her best friend. Maura grew up with her cousins Angelo and Mary and they and their families remained close.
After graduating from Tooley High School, Maura began her career at Illinois Bell in customer service.
In the late 1960's, Maura, Mary Grace and their parents moved from Chicago to Oak Park, where they were active in many Oak Park activities especially St. Angela's Parish.
In the mid 1990's, Maura and Mary Grace built their dream home in Bartlett, where she enjoyed her neighbors and the community. She was also a member of St. Peter Damian Church.
Maura's favorite activities were spending time with her large extended family and friends who loved and cherished her.
Visitation Sunday, March 22nd, 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd., (at Stearns Rd.) Bartlett. Funeral Monday 9:15 a.m. to St. Peter Damian Church. Mass 10:00 a.m. Burial Queen of Heaven. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Catholic Charities, www.catholiccharities.net, would be appreciated.
