Maryann Gagnon, 86, passed away May 15, 2024. She is preceded in death by her father, the late Richard Carlton Whitney, her mother, the late Margaret Alice Balzer, Her Husband, the late John Gagnon, and her brothers, the late Richard (Dickie) Carlton Whitney Jr, the late Thomas Whitney, and the late Harold (Butchie) Whitney. She is survived by her sister, Myrna (Phil) Lotito, her daughter, Diane (Jeffrey) Marks-Bucholc, her son, Steven Gagnon, and her two grandchildren, Jessica Marks, and Bailey Marks. She was also an adoring Aunt, Great-Aunt, and Mimi to many. She was a proud donor of the senior services, helping ensure they could continue helping seniors in the community. She played bingo whenever possible, scratched lotto tickets, went shopping, loved to cook, and spent time with her family and looking after her grandchildren in their youth. She adored butterflies, hook rugs, puzzles, or anything that had her hands working. During the last 11 years of her life, she lived with her daughter, Diane, who helped take care of her with the help of her husband, Jeffrey. She looked forward to visits from her sister, Myrna, and other family members. Maryann above all else, loved and was loved by her entire family. Maryann was born in Chicago, IL before moving to Skokie, IL to raise Diane and Steve. She later Moved to South Elgin with her husband, John, and finished her journey of life in Elgin, IL, where her daughter resides. A Visitation will be held Monday, May 20, 2024 with viewing from 3 to 9 PM with service at 6 PM at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 95 S. Gilbert Street (at State Street) South Elgin.
