Marion (Marvin) Williams was born on April 10, 1953 in Bennett, MS to the late Mary Ella Jiles Williams and Willie B. Williams. He was one of 14 children. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Celeste Farris, Fred D. Moore, Howard D. Williams, Angela Liggins, and Martha Lee Brooks.
In 1971, as a young man, while at a New Year’s Eve party, Marvin met a beautiful young lady named Ruby Lee Little. Betting against her cousin, Ruby made a small $1 bet about who would get Marvin first. Ruby obviously won the bet. Joined in holy matrimony on August 24, 1991, Marvin and Ruby’s union was blessed with two children, Nikki Nicole Anderson and Dwayne Little. Together, in this life, they enjoyed 49 eventful years.
Marvin began his career in telecommunications in 1977 at Illinois Bell. He diligently served for 34 years before his retirement in 2011.
Marvin was a simple, hospitable, and “stubborn” man who loved his family with his whole heart. Whether he knew you his entire life or just met you, Marvin cared very deeply for those he crossed paths with. He was excited to take vacations and was always willing to try new adventures with his wife. He thoroughly enjoyed golfing, playing cards with his favorite in-laws, and just sitting and talking (debating) with family and friends.
His loving memory will be cherished by: his loving and devoted wife, Ruby Lee; children, Nikki N. Anderson (Francisco [Tony] Anderson), and Dwayne Little; grandchildren, Lashaun K. Anderson (Natalia), Genesis K. Anderson, Cameron I. Anderson, and Dwayne J. Little; three brothers, Willie Lee Williams (Mary), John H Williams (Patricia), and Jesse Williams (Maxine); three sisters, Rachel Cameron, Audra Green (Tony), and Marilyn Selmon (Marvin); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
